As Facilities Manager, Rob monitors and enhances the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of the Knox building and grounds. As Knox’s IT Manager, he also troubleshoots the staff’s computing hardware and software problems, supports audio-visual setups, and works toward improving the overall IT infrastructure.
Rob attended Northwestern University where he received a BS in Industrial Engineering . Before attending graduate school, he worked with the Peace Corps in Paraguay in the field of Public Health and Sanitation. He then received his Master of Music in Musicology, specializing in Ethnomusicology, from the University of Illinois, and conducted thesis and doctoral dissertation fieldwork in Bolivia as the recipient of several grants, including the Fulbright (IIE), a doctoral grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, and fellowships at the master’s and doctoral levels from the Inter-American Foundation (IAF) and the Tinker Foundation. He speaks Spanish, and also speaks limited Quechua and Guaraní (Native American languages of South America).
