Sections of rural West Virginia have been devastated by floods, with many homes, schools, churches and businesses damaged or destroyed. This summer, you have a chance to provide hands-on help to people affected by the floods via a Knox Church mission trip from July 22 through July 29.
We will be repairing flood-damaged homes in Richwood, WVA, and need up to 20 volunteers to help. Have carpentry or home repair skills? We need you! Have no skills, but just a desire to help? We need you, too! Adults and youth 14 years old and older are welcome to come and serve.
The cost of the trip will be $250 dollars, plus transportation and meals. We’ll be preparing our own meals and staying at the Presbyterian church in Summersville, WVA, so these costs will be low. Financial aid is available to youth who need it.
Midweek, we’ll be taking a day-long break to enjoy white-water rafting, visit Summersville Lake, hiking or just relaxing.
A non-refundable deposit is required upon registration to guarantee our space in Summersville through the West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps (www.WVMAW.org), the Presbyterian-sponsored group that is organizing this and other mission trips.
Sign up below, and we’ll be in touch with all the other details. Thank you for serving!
