Knox provides you with many different ways to engage in this holy season. We invite you to join in the following opportunities.
March 1: Ash Wednesday worship. The Lenten season begins with this 7:00pm service in the Sanctuary that includes anointing with ashes from last year’s Palm Sunday palms.
March 6 – April 3: On-line Lenten Devotionals. This five-week devotional series will be delivered to you via email. Entitled “Experiencing God in Prayer,” it will be written by Knox members and will help you prepare for the weekly Lenten prayer gatherings (see next item), or you can use them to discover on your own new meanings and insights into the Lent experience.
March 14 – April 4: “Experiencing God in Prayer” gatherings. For four consecutive Tuesday evenings, join us as we meet at 6:30pm in the Knox Commons for a time of silence, sharing and prayer. All ages are welcome! Each week we will help each other deepen our prayer life as we learn how to encounter God through music, scripture, art and our bodies. No registration is required.
April 9: Palm Sunday. Jesus’ supporters greeted his arrival in Jerusalem by waving palms, a traditional way of welcoming a king. We remember this remarkable celebration at both the 9:15am and 11:00am services as we prepare ourselves for Holy Week.
April 13: Maundy Thursday worship. Join us at 7:30pm in the Sanctuary for a worshipful hour to commemorate the arrest and trial of Jesus.
April 14: Good Friday worship. We will meet at noon, the hour Jesus was hung upon the cross, for an hour of quiet reflection, prayer and worship in remembrance of God’s atoning sacrifice.
April 16: Easter Sunday worship. Christ has risen, and death is defeated! We will celebrate the most joyful day in human history at the 9:15am Fresh Spirit and the 11:00am Traditional Worship services.
