You are invited to be a part of Congregational Care Ministries at Knox Church!
Do you have gifts for cooking and sharing food? Is prayer an important way you care for others or would you like to deepen your prayer life? Can you teach others about using technology to connect with Knox? Is climate justice an important part of your faith? Consider serving on a Knox Congregational Care ministry! Time Commitment: occasional/as needed; we ask for a one-year commitment, with an opportunity to re-up (of course!).
You obey the law of Christ when you offer each other a helping hand. (Gal. 6:2, CEV)
Occasionally, people need a specific sort of help on a short-term basis; a ride to a doctor’s appointment, someone to pick up groceries, help moving into a new living situation, etc. This team would be approached when these needs arise and whomever is able, responds.
As the Holy One has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love (John 15:9).
Offers personal support through prayer to those who have asked to be placed on the Knox prayer list. Each week, new prayer requests are divided among the ministry members along with some suggestions for images and methods for prayer (some weeks you may have a name, other weeks you will not); one member prays for one person in need of prayer and when possible, sends a prayer note.
The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it (Psalm 24:1)
Knox cares for one another by caring for the earth, too! This team shares resources from Presbyterians for Earth Care and organizes projects and events that help all of us live into our calling to be good stewards of creation.
