Music is a gift of God, holding a unique power to stimulate worshippers to sublime thoughts, meditation and awe before the Lord. We are truly blessed to have a choir whose excellence has been recognized nationally. The Knox music program represents a variety of tastes and cultural backgrounds. We seek to offer diverse styles of sacred music (traditional, contemporary and masterworks) in an effort to reach the hearts, minds and spirits of each worshipper. The Knox Choir rehearses each Thursday evening at 7:30 pm and is under the direction of Director of Music, Dr. Earl G. Rivers and is accompanied by Ms. Christina Haan, Organist. The Knox Choir provides special music and music leadership at the morning worship services, and at other special worship services throughout the year. They also provide outreach to greater Cincinnati through the Knox Music Series.The Youth Choir sings monthly from September through May. The choir is composed of 7th - 12th grade students and rehearses each Sunday from 10:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Adult Handbell Choir rings monthly from September through May in Sunday worship. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m.The Children's Choirs rehearse each Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. and are designed for children in Kindergarten - 3rd grades (Carol Choir) and 4th through 6th grades (Covenant Choir). The children's choirs sing monthly from September through May in morning worship and present a pageant in December and a musical in June. The Knox Music Program is a joy to our congregation and a vital part of our ministry! |
