Bible Study: the Book of Colossians
Holly Toensing

Early Christians dealt with how to live within the Roman empire yet be a distinctive group.  Our discussions of the book of Colossians will press us to consider what our own “empires” are today and how we can live there while acknowledging the transformative power of Christ.
April 27th   Colossians Ch. 1; May 4th Colossians Ch. 2; May 11th Colossians Ch. 3; May 18th     Colossians Ch. 4

Holly is an Assistant Professor of Bible at Xavier University and actively attends Knox.

May 4 at 9:15am & 11:00am CeaseFire Cincinnati Presented by Interim Executive Director of the Community Police Partnering Center, Doreen Cudnik and representatives from CeaseFire Cincinati

Gun violence has reached epidemic proportions in the City of Cincinnati. CeaseFire Cincinnati’s mission is to reduce shootings and killings, focusing in the communities of Avondale and Walnut Hills. We collaborate with community partners in a focused, community-based effort. CeaseFire also partners with the faith-based community to influence individuals to stop shooting and killing. Ceasefire Cincinnati employs street-level Outreach Workers to conduct intensified outreach to those at high risk for gun violence, and criminal justice partners like the Police, Probation and Parole work together to identify high risk individuals and to send the message: Stop the Shooting! We develop and implement a broad-based public education campaign to broadcast CeaseFire’s “Stop the Shooting” message and change community attitudes and behaviors about gun violence.
